Guests and our School members at the “SBS Research Day 2017”

School of Biomedical Sciences Research Day 2017
The School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) Research Day 2017, an annual flagship event of SBS, was successfully held on 1 and 2 June 2017 at the Lo Kwee-Seong Integrated Biomedical Sciences Building, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Officiated by Prof. Francis K.L. Chan, Dean of Medicine and Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Director of SBS, the event was well attended by over 280 participants, which was a record-high figure since its first launch in June 2010.

Same as previous years, the SBS Research Day 2017 provided an excellent opportunity for our faculty members to showcase their recent research works and to interact with our thematic associate members from clinical departments, CUHK colleagues from other departments, guests from The University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science & Technology and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, as well as representatives of the biotechnology companies from The Hong Kong Science Park. This year, a presentation session was arranged for our postdoctoral fellows to share their research findings with the participants, and the best-performed postdoctoral fellow was awarded a “Best Presentation Award” as an encouragement for they have been making sustained effort in research.

The SBS Research Day has been providing a platform for communication and exchange of research ideas among our faculty members and with their counterparts. Through this flagship event, it is our hope that academic linkage and a communication channel for scientific research can be built and strengthened, fostering more research collaborations between our faculty members and various stakeholders in the field. We sincerely thank all the participants and also the sponsoring companies for their enthusiastic support to make this event another year of success.
