A group of four delegates from ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (ROHTO) and Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) visited the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) on 13 September 2019.

It was an exciting opportunity for faculty members from SBS and the Institute for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (iTERM), including Prof. Kenneth K.H. Lee, Prof. Anna Blocki, Prof. Lee Chien-wei, Prof. Chan Hon-fai, Prof. Wang Dan and Prof. Jiang Yangzi, to meet with Mr. Eiji Kobayashi, Managing Director of ROHTO and Ms. Hikari Kurogi, Senior Scientist of ROHTO, learning about the background of ROHTO and its current research innovations and initiatives. The delegation was then arranged to have a tour of the core facilities located in the Lo Kwee-Seong Integrated Biomedical Sciences Building.

Through reception of such delegations, we hope to build up closer connection with the industry, hence promoting more collaborative and translational research.

這是一次很好的機會讓本學院及組織工程與再生醫學研究所的教研人員包括李嘉豪教授、Anna Blocki 教授、李建緯教授、陳漢輝教授、王丹教授及姜洋子教授與樂敦製藥株式會社常務董事Eiji Kobayashi先生及資深科研人員Hikari Kurogi女士會面，了解其公司背景及目前各項的創新研究。代表團於會後參觀了設於羅桂祥綜合生物醫學大樓的中心實驗室設施。

本學院期望透過接待此類代表團，能跟業界建立更緊密的聯繫，藉此加強協作及轉化研究。
