Tsang Kin Ching, B.Sc. Graduate in Biomedical Sciences
It is always inspiring to learn from teachers and peers about their ideas and scientific findings. During our undergraduate study, not only did we acquire biomedical science knowledge from teachers through regular lectures, but we also got plenty of opportunities to exchange ideas with classmates on various occasions, such as Summer Undergraduate Biomedical Research Attachment (SUBRA), Capstone Research Project presentation, and research days, to name a few. I am grateful for the experience and knowledge acquired during my undergraduate study, which has widened my horizons for further exploration in the field of biomedical sciences.
SUBRA and Capstone Research Project are perhaps the most memorable activities for most students in the research concentration area during undergraduate study. I am thankful for the opportunity to be involved in cancer research during summer attachment and subsequently focused on the development of gene therapy during my capstone research project. These experiences sparked my interest in research and therefore i am now pursuing a PhD at the School of Biomedical Sciences, CUHK, focusing on chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell therapy. While research and innovations often come with challenges, I hope to contribute to the field in the future through studying and advancing gene and cell therapy.
在理學士學習期間,從老師和同學身上學習他們的想法和科學發現,一直都是一個令人鼓舞的過程。我們不僅通過老師的課堂教學中獲得了生物醫學知識,還有很多機會在不同場合與同學交流,例如本科生暑期研究實習(SUBRA)、總結性科研項目報告日和研究日等。我在學習期間獲得不少經驗和知識,感到非常感激,這擴闊了我的視野,令我可進一步探索生物醫學領域。
對於學士學位學習過程中研究專修的學生來說,SUBRA和總結性科研項目可能是最難忘的活動。我很感謝能夠在暑期實習中參與癌症研究,並隨後在總結性科研項目中專注於開發基因治療。這些經歷激發了我對研究的興趣,因此我正在香港中文大學生物醫學學院攻讀博士學位,專注於嵌合抗原受體(CAR)T細胞療法。儘管研究工作和創新總是充滿著 挑戰,我希望通過研究和推進基因和細胞療法,將來為這個領域作出貢獻。
