Following the mutual visits between the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) and Yantai Economic & Technological Development Area (YEDA) in April and May 2018, another delegation from Yantai, Shandong Province, China comprising Mr. Mu Shuqing, senior official of YEDA and three YEDA officials visited SBS again on 4 December 2018.

During the visit, Prof. Chan Wai-Yee, Director and Prof. Chan Sun-on, Associate Director (Undergraduate Education) of SBS briefed the delegates on the academic achievements and recent research development of SBS. The delegation was also led to tour the Core Laboratories to learn about SBS's advanced research equipment and facilities.

Through establishing a closer linkage with YEDA, it is our hope to explore potential academia-industry collaboration in biomedical sciences research and education so as to attract more funding and support from companies in YEDA to advance our development in research and education.

繼2018年4月及5月生物醫學學院與煙台經濟技術開發區互訪後，中國山東省煙台市另一訪問團於2018年12月4日再度到訪生物醫學學院，是次訪問團包括煙台經濟技術開發區高級官員牟樹青先生，以及三位煙台經濟技術開發區官員。

在訪問中，生物醫學學院院長陳偉儀教授及副院長（本科生教育）陳新安教授向訪問團簡介本學院的學術成果及研究發展。訪問團亦參觀了本學院中心實驗室，了解本學院的先進研究設備。

透過本學院與煙台經濟技術開發區建立更緊密的聯繫，我們希望進一步探討雙方在生物醫學研究及教育方面的合作，以吸引煙台經濟技術開發區內公司的更多資助及支持，推動本院的研究及教育發展。
