參與中大與粵港澳大灣區精準醫學研究院（廣州）合作協議簽署儀式

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the Greater Bay Area Institute of Precision Medicine (Guangzhou) (GBA-IPM) signed a collaboration agreement on 14 December 2022. GBA-IPM is jointly established by the People’s Government of Guangzhou Municipality, Guangzhou Nansha Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee, and Fudan University (FDU).

Prof. Rocky S. Tuan, Vice-Chancellor/President of CUHK and Prof. Jin Li, President of FDU and Director of GBA-IPM first delivered opening speeches. Following the discussion about research and training collaboration, Prof. Andrew M. Chan, Director of School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS), and Prof. Lin Xinhua, Dean of School of Life Science, FDU and Executive Director of GBA-IPM signed the agreement on behalf of two institutions. Other School members including Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Pro-Vice-Chancellor/Vice-President and Li Ka Shing Professor of Biomedical Sciences; Prof. Vincent C.K. Cheung, Associate Professor; and Prof. Shen Gu, Assistant Professor also attended the ceremony. The signing of agreement will further facilitate the mutual collaboration in the fields of biomedicine and precision medicine in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Our School has established academic connection with FDU since 2021, through participation in the CUHK-FDU Joint Research Centre in Life and Biomedical Sciences. Following an online meeting held on 25 Apr 2022, CUHK and FDU jointly held another online collaborative seminar on 22 September 2022. The participants from CUHK included Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Prof. Andrew Chan, Prof. Vincent Cheung, and Prof. Chan Hon-fai, and Prof. Qin Ling of Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, and Ms. Wing Wong, Director of China Engagement Office. Participants from FDU included Prof. Lin Xinhua and Prof. Yang Zhong, Vice Dean of School of Life Sciences etc. The seminar summarised the development of the Centre since its establishment, followed by exchange of academic ideas and discussion of the future plan.

中大校長段崇智教授與復旦大學金力校長暨粵港澳大灣區精準醫學研究院（廣州）院長首先致辭。在兩校代表就科研項目合作及探討培育人才等方面進行交流討論後，生物醫學學院院長陳文樂教授與復旦大學生命科學學院院長暨粵港澳大灣區精準醫學研究院（廣州）執行院長林鑫華代表兩校簽署合作協議。本學院成員包括副校長及李嘉誠生物醫學講座教授陳偉儀教授、副教授張智鈞教授、助理教授顧燊教授亦有參與此儀式。是次合作協議簽署將進一步推動中大與研究院在粵港澳大灣區中生物醫藥、精準醫學等領域研究的協同發展。

本學院自2021年起與復旦大學連繫，曾參與中大—復旦大學生命科學與醫學聯合研究中心活動。在2022年4月25日舉行的線上會議後，中大—復旦大學生命科學與醫學聯合研究中心（聯合研究中心）於2022年9月22日在線舉行合作研討會。中大的與會代表包括本學院陳偉儀教授、陳文樂教授、張智鈞教授、顧燊教授及陳漢輝教授、矯形外科及創傷學系秦嶺教授和內地及大中華發展處處長黃咏女士。復旦大學與會者包括林鑫華教授、及生命科學學院副院長楊忠教授等。研討會總結中心自成立以來的發展進程，交流學術意見並商討中心的未來工作。
