Visa applications for non-local students
Participants are required to obtain a valid entry visa to come to HK. All participants will receive a formal invitation letter which can be used to apply for a VISA/entry permit. Since participants are not yet the students of CUHK, "student VISA" is not applicable.
For participants who come from Mainland China, please apply for standard tourist VISA. The Individual Visit Scheme (自由行) allows residents in the prescribed mainland cities to visit Hong Kong in their individual capacity. Details could be found at https://www.tourism.gov.hk/en/visitor_ind.php.
It normally takes 6-8 weeks (during peak season) to process a visit / transit visa / entry permit application upon receipt of all the required documents. Students are responsible for obtaining their visa / entry permit in time.
For more information about VISA / entry permit, please visit the website of HKSAR Immigration Department: http://www.immd.gov.hk/hkt/services/visas/visit_transit.html
