Three research grants of about RMB¥15.5 million supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) National Key Technologies Research and Development Program of China, were awarded to Prof. Jiang Yangzi and Prof. Chan Hon-fai, members of our Developmental and Regenerative Biology (DRB) Thematic Research Program and of the Institute for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (iTERM), CUHK.

Prof. Jiang was selected and funded with an amount of RMB¥5.45 million for the research project entitled “The Roles and Mechanism of Tissue-Specific Stem Cells in Osteoarthritis” in the field of Stem Cells and Translational Research under the MOST’s “Young Scientist Scheme”.

Meanwhile, Prof. Chan received RMB ¥4.89 million and RMB¥5 million respectively from MOST for the projects entitled “Engineering Highly Efficient Chassis Cell” in the field of Synthetic Biology, and “Smart Biomaterials for Directing Stem Cell Differentiation in 3D for Constructing Bioartificial Liver” in the field of Stem Cells and Translational Research.

本學院助理教授陳漢輝教授及研究助理教授姜洋子教授憑藉三個研究項目，成功獲得中國國家科學技術部（科技部）國家重點研發計劃的研究資助，共獲批人民幣約一千五百五十百萬作研究之用。他們均為本學院發育及再生生物學主題研究組及中大組織工程與再生醫學研究所之成員。

憑藉其研究項目「關節組織特異性幹細胞在骨關節炎中的作用及其機制」，姜教授在科技部青年科學家項目轄下的「幹細胞及轉化研究」重點專項中，成功獲取人民幣五百四十五萬的資助。

與此同時，陳教授憑藉「高版本模式微生物底盤細胞」研究項目，在「合成生物學」重點專項中獲得人民幣四百八十九萬的資助；而其「智慧型生物材料持續誘導調控3D幹細胞培養構建生物人工肝」項目，亦在「幹細胞及轉化研究」重點專項中獲批人民幣五百萬的資助。
